No. Your PDF is loaded directly into your browser's memory and never sent to any server. The signed document is downloaded straight to your device. Nothing is stored by us.

What file types are supported?

Signvert supports PDF files, Word documents (.docx), and images (JPG, PNG). You can also convert Word to PDF, merge PDFs, split PDFs, compress files, and more using the free tools.

Can I sign a document on my phone?

Yes. Signvert works in any modern mobile browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android). You can draw your signature with your finger directly on the touchscreen.

Is a signature made with Signvert legally valid?

That depends on the laws of your country and the requirements of the specific document. For everyday purposes — signing a tenancy agreement, a consent form, or a work document — a signature image is generally accepted. For formal legal or financial documents, check with the receiving party or a legal professional about their specific requirements.

What is the maximum file size?

You can upload PDFs and documents up to 50 MB. Most everyday documents are well under this limit.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?

Yes. The PDF to Word tool uses Tesseract.js OCR to automatically detect and extract text from scanned PDFs. It supports over 20 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic.

How strong is the encryption applied to my PDF?

Signvert applies 128-bit AES encryption, which is the standard used by professional PDF software. This is strong enough to protect documents from casual access. For highly sensitive documents, choose a long, unique password.

Can I remove the password later?

The protected PDF can be unlocked in any standard PDF reader (such as Adobe Acrobat or Preview on Mac) by entering the password and saving an unencrypted copy. Signvert does not currently offer a dedicated unlock tool.
